One our biggest pet peeves at Forest Roofs is when we tear off a roof and realize that there are multiple layers of felt. This happens when the roofers are too lazy to tear it off. You might think that it just comes up with the rest of the felt, but it doesn’t. It creates a lot of extra work for the crew because aside from tearing it all off, they have as many times the nails to nail back in to create a smooth surface as there are layers of felt. Aside from the extra work, it also can create creases in the felt that then transfer to the shingles making them look puckered.
